Moira is Chief Executive Officer at the Family Doctor Association (FDA), a leading primary care organisation and educational charity. The FDA has a growing membership of UK GP practices that provide continuity of care and personal doctoring to their patients.
Moira has worked in primary care for two decades, leaving secondary care for the promise of a primary care-led NHS. She remains an optimist despite being in touch with the trials and tribulations of over 5,000 jobbing GPs. Her forte is translating NHS-speak into plain English for the regular NHS buzzword bingo column and well-received FDA GP factsheets. She describes herself as a practical, common sense thinker even with degrees in economics, law and leadership.
Current portfolio includes: Department of Health stakeholder network, NHS England, CQC, Health Education England, FDA education innovation & corporate business development.
Outside work she can be found in her allotment, out in the Pennines enjoying the geology, practising German, or eBay trading.
